First TT Rodney Meeting

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

We had an excellent turnout, and it was a very enjoyable evening.

Slides were shown on peak oil, climate change and population overshoot. We also started watching the TT 12 steps movies. Also discussed our main interests as a TT group. They were sustainable food production, energy and transport solutions, environmental awareness and education.
Obstacles to a sustainable transition (district plan, 10 yr plan, lack of public awareness)were also mentioned.

Talked about what we as a group could do. This turned out to be quite alot.

Agreed to try to bring neighbours and friends into our group by showing them films. Looking at an Environmental Film Festival -J and J to organise.

Up and coming courses

  • 2.00-3.300pm Warkworth Masonic Hall, 24th November.
  • Permaculture with Rainbow Valley Farm check out their website.

This is very achievable.
